The dirtiest run in central Pennsylvania
Come get dirty with us in the beautiful (but filthy) acreage just north of the heart of Harrisburg city. Don’t let this “mini-mudder” fool you — while it’s a scaled down distance, we’ve upped the ante on fun and challenging obstacles sure to turn a white shirt colors. How do you train for the MudMash? We’d recommend watching Indiana Jones a few times for starters…

For over 30 years Harrisburg has taken over Front Street for a race event for the whole family. No matter who you are or what your fitness level is, this event is for you. Several heats take place during the event, with one of the most exciting being the Corporate Challenge- a team event that invites co-workers to come out as a team and finish as a team. Individuals strive to achieve their personal best time. Kids can enjoy crafts, games, and activities in our Kids Zone, and adults can enjoy a DJ and after-party. Don’t miss out on this fun community event!

The Harrisburg Half Marathon course starts and finishes on City Island and runs along the scenic Riverfront Park in the downtown Harrisburg community. It’s an ideal course that’s friendly for runners of all abilities — beginners enjoy the lack of elevation while more experienced runners strive for personal bests. In 20 years of existence and with over 1,200 participants last year, the Half has experienced tremendous growth and is quickly becoming one of the largest running events in Central Pennsylvania.

The queen-mother of all running events in the greater central Pennsylvania area, this Boston-qualifier has been affectionately dubbed the “Mini-Boston” — not just in being a stepping stone to one of the most prestigious races in the country, but because Harrisburg’s heart comes alive as thousands of runners and spectators turn the downtown into a festival. The Harrisburg Marathon features a revised course that debuted in 2015. This fast, flat marathon winds through urban street, forested paths, across bridges, and through natural features unique to Pennsylvania’s capital city on the river.
The Harrisburg Area YMCA offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages.
